Growing up in Calgary

Our son, Jeff, met Steven in Grade 1. Our family had relocated to Calgary two months prior and the Grade 1 teacher, recognizing that Jeff knew no one in the class, suggested Steven as a potential friend. A play date was arranged and thus began a significant friendship. From a parent perspective, Steven was a great choice as a friend. He was willing to try new things, inquisitive, cheerful, polite, industrious, and overall, a positive influence on our son (okay, there were a few 'experiments' that maybe weren't so positive such as the quasi pipe bombs).
After Steven and Jeff graduated from Queens we heard stories that emphasized how much Steven loved April Fool's Day. One of his practical jokes focused on Jeff (and converting to Jacksonism). With his characteristic zeal and effort, Steven created a video, designed t-shirts, and enlisted the participation of engineering classmates. Steven always gave 110%.
In his 31 years, Steven touched so many people with his ingenuity and affability.
