This is a wing from a butterfly from the Morpho genus. Back in 2014, Steve and James and I went on a road trip to NYC to get a collection of insects for our 'cabinet of curiosities' for an upcoming exhibition, Ocean Pavilion. On the way, James asked us how many of the 35 phyla we knew, and we spent the car ride trying to guess them (we only came up with 7 or 8). Most of the insects that we got from that NYC trip still reside in lab, and I think of Steve each time I see them.
