In May 2015, Cath, myself and our 2 sons, Johnny and Michael, visited Steven at MIT. Steven and Wendy set aside their entire afternoon to tour us around the Media Lab. Steven was still recovering from his first surgeries and still made the time to be with us and share his love of engineering and life.
We were totally blown away with the Media Lab and Steven's work. Our boys came away saying, " I want to do my Phd in Engineering at MIT". Steven left a lasting and positive impression with our boys, instilling in them a love of learning and curiosity. He also gave our boys a 3D model of his tumour that still sits on Mikey's desk.
We often talk about that trip and our time with Steven. It was a special day with an amazing human being. We are so fortunate and grateful to know him.
