After our undergrads, Steve, Tim and I decided to celebrate with a 6 week trip to Southeast Asia. Amongst the parties that are typical with a post-university trip, Steve’s thirst for knowledge and love for photography shone through. Whether it was understanding the local culture or cuisine (even though his spice tolerance wasn’t quite up to local standards!), researching what type of fish we saw on our diving trip, staying up late to get to know the family we stayed with on an overnight hike through the Vietnamese rice fields, or stopping to get the perfect artsy shot of a monkey in a tree, Steve was always learning and satisfying his love for the world.
Oh and a final thought, I can’t mention the SE Asia trip without a shout-out to his dance moves. As the photos attest, even an empty bar couldn’t stop Steve from moving to the music.
