Silicon Valley

Steve always seemed to be able to take advantage of and enjoy every moment, more so than anyone else was able to. This was evident as he had many friends fly down to Sunnyvale for weekends that were chock-full of new activities, all planned by Steve.
I flew in one weekend back in July 2017. Steve picked me up in his baby blue Mini Cooper convertible (which he loved to drive, despite it not being electric) and we checked out a few SF staples and his apartment (which he was decking out with his favourite memorabilia, gems, experiments, an electronic state of the art adjustable bed and was in the process of building his own furniture out of a single redwood stump) before heading off to Napa Valley. We cruised the whole way with the top down listening to 90’s R&B/hip-hop, doing our best to look like a progressive SF couple. We wine toured (and had to revisit a vineyard the following day before driving back to see if Steve could somehow squeeze us and two old wine barrels into his mini to customize into furniture for his pad - he could not), hit an indoor skydiving centre, a historical spooky museum Steve always wanted to see and a nightclub before flying home the following day. It was a great weekend, one in which I still owe him a cleaning fee for vomiting in the back of an Uber.
Miss you man, we’ll do our best to take advantage of and enjoy the moments we’re given, as you always did.
