Steve was incredibly dedicated and hard working.  I remember visiting him in Mountain View when he was working on his building 3D printing project.  He had a whole warehouse building basically to himself where he was putting together a, huge, complex robotic system. He even had to repair the roof of the building just to keep working on the project.  It was clear that he was a bit overwhelmed getting it all done, but he kept chugging along and eventually got the thing working, and always with a smile.
