I remember meeting Steve in first year chemistry class. I was sitting in the second or third row with Lisa, me and Christian (I have a picture of all of us attached, plus Bryan). Steve was my first friend at Queens; I look back and I feel so blessed I got to be his friend. I was so excited to live together with him, Jeff and Jess (and later Paula), and I loved our house on Brock Street so much. Steve was not only a wonderful friend who I loved learning from; he was just a light to be around. Always. Even in the darkest moments, he always saw the light in everything, especially people and most importantly, science.
